About your experience

About this username tool

Username Check is an independent Instagram username planning tool. It is not Instagram, Meta, or an authorized account-management service.

The current version helps you review basic handle formats, generate variations from a name, organize a shortlist, and query a third-party public-profile signal when live checking is available. It does not change usernames, claim accounts, retrieve former usernames, or monitor names.

What works in this version

  • Review one username or extract a handle from an Instagram profile link.
  • Generate rule-based variations using a name or brand and an optional word.
  • Review up to 25 unique list entries, remove duplicates, and export a CSV.
  • Keep drafts in this browser tab and remove them with Clear draft.
  • Create an account for private lookup history when signed in.

What a format review can tell you

The local review checks basic characters and length. It trims surrounding spaces, removes a leading @, reads a single profile path from an Instagram URL, and lowercases the result. It does not silently strip unsupported characters from an entered handle. The generator intentionally proposes new names and may simplify accents and separators.

What it cannot tell you

A live lookup can report a public profile found, no public profile found, or an unknown result. It cannot establish that a name can be registered. Even an absent public profile does not prove that a username can be registered. Instagram makes that decision.

Independence and account safety

We do not ask for your Instagram password, access token, cookies, or login session. An “Open profile” link opens the exact reviewed handle on Instagram; it does not perform a lookup or modify an account for you. No result should be treated as a reservation.

Support status

Signed-in users can record account, query, or data requests through the support flow. Email forwarding is configured for support@igusernamechecker.com, while inbox delivery and replies from that address still require production verification. See the help and contact page.
